My postpartum body. (TMI).

It’s been one entire month on thursday since my body was cut open and our child was pulled from inside of me, but my body still has a long way to go!

Between the sleepless nights, dirty nap nap’s, piss hitting my eyeballs and the pure joy of being a new mother, I really am attempting to become a healthier, happier and more confident me. But I have to admit, when I look in the mirror and see that road map, that pouch and my still larger than I’d like uterus, I can’t help but feel deflated.

3 weeks 5 days postpartum.jpgI’m sure many woman go through this, but everyone’s experience is different. Its like you finally have your body back, BUT WAIT! It’s completely different prior to being pregnant; your breast cup changes every 20 minutes, you still have fluids leaking your of your lady parts, the bags under your eyes could carry your shopping and if you’re like me and you have had a C-Section, you still aren’t quite capable of carrying huge loads or doing vigorous work out schedules to attempt to get rid of your mama pouch.

Now, don’t mistake me, I wouldn’t have it any other way, but i’m still allowed to complain about it; you are still allowed to complain about it. You are superwoman, but you are still human.

I want you all to know that you don’t always end up with the perfect postpartum body and that’s okay! It will get better with time! Just two weeks ago I could barely fit any of my clothes and now I can fit most things. The unfortunate thing is that a lot of woman aren’t told just how long it can take to recover after giving birth to a child or having major surgery! We all recover and heal at different rates!

I have signed up for beginners yoga classes with a very good friend who’s recently had a beautiful baby boy as well, and I cannot wait to start the journey and build up to a healthier more spiritually intune and confident self.

Now, my goal is to accept all that I am now, mama pouch and all! We have bought children into this world, that itself is a huge endeavor and we should be extremely proud. SO, everyday look in the mirror and tell yourself you love yourself, that you are beautiful, that you will look after this miracle body because you deserve the best!
